Wanted 1949 Traveler owners manual
« on: December 22, 2010, 02:18:55 AM »
I am looking for an owners manual to put in my 49 Traveler.  Would prefer a sound copy with clean pages but am willing to accept one in almost any condition just to have one.

What about the rest of the packet?  There was the owners policy and owner identification card.  The owner manual, service policy and ID cars were in a GREEN pocket folder, "personally yours" on the cover.  Frazers (1949-51) used a blue cover version.  These were only used during this model run for Kaisers, and into 1951 for Frazers.  I have a good 1949 Kaiser packet and a mint 1951 Frazer package.

'49 owners manuals turn up frequently on eBay.  I think that Terry Zeug has one listed now.  My Jan 5, 1949 issue has a section in the back on the Convertible and Virginion but makes no mention of the Traveler.  Do later editions mention the Traveler or is their a separate manual for the Traveler?  My '50 manual dated December 1949 eliminated the Convertible and Virginian section and does not mention the Traveler either.

Thanks Ben,  that is interesting.  With all of the unique folding parts on the Traveler it is odd that they did not have a supplement or something on the operation of the tailgate and folding seats.  Perhaps K-F figured it was so simple that no instructions were necessary but I'll bet that the salesmen who delivered them to new customers put in plenty of time explaining the operation!
