Convertibles
« on: October 28, 2011, 02:30:14 PM »
Interesting to see 2 more Frazer convertibles show up in the Bulletin this month.  Seems like the members that stored them away in the 70s and are showing up now from their estates.  Will this bring their value down with more available?

Depending upon their condition (I haven't gotten my electronic bulletin yet), their value could be a bit less than in years past. I think it's largely due to the fact that people looking for a KF are older and want a car that can be driven or shown now. Cars that are of lesser quality then go begging for buyers. Add to that the soft economy and that helps drive down prices of all vintage autos in general...especially many orphans due to their unique collectability.

I've seen an increase in the number of estate sold cars lately and I see that trend continuing. In my opinion, if you're looking for a KF, there should be some good cars on the market and once the economy rebounds, they will be a very good investment.

The one that's in Saint Paul, MN was owned for years by Keith Zimmerman. He had nothing but primo stuff! It's a beaut. It sold at his auction back on 2002 for $29,000 (I have it on video). I saw it at the Saint Paul Fairgrounds at the Back To the Fifties Weekend in 2009 and it's still a great head turner. I have no idea if it has increased in value that much over ten years but you never know. It sure is nice that's for sure.

It seems really rare that they are both Blue.  I had been in the club for years before I remember seeing a blue 51 Frazer.
