Power Steering Tie Rod for 54 Manhattan
« on: February 01, 2009, 09:57:33 AM »
This message was emailed to me by John Peek.  Please contact him at jsgmpeek@gohighspeed.com

I'm finishing a restoration of a 1954 Kaiser Manhattan with power
steering.
I need the passengers side tie rod (new, remanufactured, NOS etc.)
The part number listed in the KFOCI Handbook (NAPA 269-2240) does not
fit.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be welcome. Thanks, John Peek

Well Folks, I've found that NAPA Chassis Parts have an item that will work.  NAPA part number 269-2320 it doesn't have the proper bend but with some adjustment I think it will do just fine.  john

As a matter of pride, I would like to point out that the KFOCI Handbook the man in search of the part referrs to is NOT Version 4.0 or 5.0 (the CD's I did).  Because a club member is selling a cross-reference manual based on NAPA offerings, the only NAPA cross reference item listed in the material are the numbers for Oil Filters.
