brake pedal stop
« on: March 26, 2012, 02:53:05 PM »
My 53 Dragon has an uncomfortably high brake pedal at rest. Should there be a rubber pedal limiter/stop that might be missing on the engine side of the floor pan? If so, who sells new ones? My Hudson has one that looks like a donut and keeps the pedal assembly  from banging against the floor pan when you side step the pedal. It also limits the pedal height about an inch.

Yes, there should be a stop that mounts under the floorboard (in  the engine compartment). Rudy Phillips sells them and they're part number 207932. His number is 760.789.360 8. Mornings are best and he's in southern California.

My '53 Manhattan has a bolt that comes up through the floor and can be adjusted for height above it. Serves as an adjustable stop and doesn't appear to be a special part.

The height of the pedal at rest above the floor can be adjusted with the cam on the cylinder linkage.
