1992 PNW Regional Meet at Cave Junction Oregon
« on: January 01, 2014, 11:26:39 PM »
Here are a few photos I have scanned of one of the meets for the PNW Region of our club.  This was in Cave Junction, Oregon.  The sports car is a Carsten with Henry J running gear, being driven by Jay Wilson and was/is owned by Bob Dexter, currently our region's leader.  I hope I got this right, the record I have inherited is kinda fuzzy...

Thanks Les ... good memories.  That was my first Meet.  The Black 51K 2 Dr was owned by Bill Rus now owned by Harry Hathhorn in Idaho.  The Dragon was one of the Manley Dragons.  I think the 2 tone green 51 K 2 Dr with the Continental kit was Lee Stanhope's

Somewhere I have pics of the 1983 meet at Grants Pass. If I find them, I'll post them. The SoCal group came up en masse, bringing quite a few KF's with them.
The Carsten was there also. Bob Dexter, Jr let me drive it. It's based on a Henry J, but they made it a floor shift by removing the shifter from the column and mounting it on the floor. The "H" pattern went left to right instead of forward and back. Took a little getting used to.
Andy Schroyer was very excited because he managed to get Kaiser Darrin #2 there. It was a white car and belonged to a woman named Fisch. Andy made a big production out of pulling the car cover off of it for all of us to see. There was also a gold metallic painted Darrin with DOHC Maserati engine under the hood.

Is this the Maserati engined Darrin?  We saw this car in 1999 in Everett, and in another car show, in Snohomish, WA, I think, at about the same year.

I like the subtle fender flair! Neato Darrin!

This Darrin is still in the Northwest - Seattle I do believe.  Hope to see it at the Puyallup National.
