Kaiser Motors

I Have a Kaiser Motors, Toledo, Oh.  motor and am trying to find out when it was manufactured. Can anyone help? the number on the block is 2178034 the tag on the block says the same thing.  Hopeful, Richard

Dusty, I assume it's the 226.2 CID flathead?  The 1955 Motors manual list 2130000 as the starting number for the 1953 engines with Hydramatic. Since Toledo would likely have been 1954 and the number being higher would make sense that it would be a '54.
The 1955 edition of Motors Manual list all the specs for the 1954 Kaiser but only latest engine numbers it lists are from 1953 so perhaps the sequence progressed from there which would make yours a '54 - '55 and which would be Toledo. Kaiserfrazerlibrary may have more to add. I also looked at Willys and Henry J (which are all in the 3000000 range) but no numbers in that range.

Fid Thanks for the lead, I have a 55 Motors manual and wasn't smart enough to look  The engine is sitting under my bench. It has a much thicker head on it but still says 226.It is painted blue and was told sears over hauled it. I had bought it from a fellow in Northridge Ca. and trucked it home. He had told me it came from his car, which was white over powder blue. He was in the process of putting the body on a Dodge truck frame and had the intention of using it off  roading with his group. Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of men, only the SHADOW knows.
