1952 valve guide removal

how can I remove the valve guides on a 52 Kaiser I know there is a special tool but is there any other way to remove them thanks bryan

On some old flat heads you drove the guide down, hit it with a hammer to snap it off, then drove the rest of it out.

KF guides are removed and installed from the top. Somewhere I ran across an old time article about how to make an R&R tool. I'll post it if I can find it.
