FS: Colorado Yard Selling Now
« on: January 08, 2014, 03:37:52 PM »
jake posted on the AACA forum about a dry project car yard in Colorado selling down.

The place has at least the following cars for sale: (Link follows 1st)

http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/4275563862.html

1-1951 Frazer
1951 Frazer 19 photos
1967 Jeepster Comando no title(7)
1950 Kaiser Virginian new chrome on grille and taillights (3 photos)
1949 Kaiser Virginian engine runs but smokes no title (7)

I spoke with the seller and he stated he wants $2000 or offer for either Virginian.

My curiosity is - does anybody know of this yard and this sellers dad maybe being a former KFOCI member because the seller I spoke to said these were dad's cars?

Don't know what the 1 1951 Frazers are but maybe hardtops as well.

No old cars owned.

It would be nice to run the numbers on the Virginians.  Just to know. If someone ends up with them, it would be nice to let us know, out of curiosity.

I wrote for pictures. We'll see what the Virginians look like!

Communication from a KFOCI member states he has seen the Virginians but doesn't have much recollection. He thought maybe one had fender skirts.  $2000 was a starting point. These are dry Colorado desert cars, no salt, probably nice chrome.

Imagine getting a Virginian project for $1500 maybe.  That's unheard of for what a Virginian represents, in the grand scheme of things for KF collectors and the collector world in general.   Pretty special cars.

Fender skirts on both cars.

The one light colored one appears to be another Polar Grey car.  The other one, if original paint - some shade of Green.  Wonder what the roof color was?

I spoke to the owner, who quoted me $2000. Since the ad you posted notes one Virginian is $800 and the other is $1200, perhaps he meant $2000 for both, but it didn't sound that way.

I also asked about the Triumph TR6, and was quoted $1500.  It is a good project because the body is rust free, but of course is of no interest to KF fans.

Most of these cars are very good deals for anyone doing a restoration project. These Virginians are in much better shape then the field car I bought in Minnesota for $600.

One should suspend the whole "what will the car's value be afterwards" and just buy them and enjoy restoring one of the iconic cars ever made.  It will cost more to restore but who cares?
