Wanted: Vent tube
« on: January 07, 2014, 04:14:42 PM »
Been looking for this part for a '48 Kaiser for quite some time. Mine is rusted out around where the flapper attaches.

Thanks,
Kory

I may have one on my parts car. If I get to the garage today I'll take a look.

Here is what I have. First photo is on the driver's side. Second photo is on the passenger side.

Is that a '48? It's hard to tell if that's the same part with it still being mounted on the car.

Mine is off of a 49. Thought they might be the same. Here is the on off of the driver side. It's in good shape. If you need it I'll put it in a bead blaster and clean it up. Here are some more photos.

Well, it sure appears to be the same. Just measured mine and the dimensions are the same. What kind of condition is it in? Especially the flapper. Mine rusted around where the flapper attaches to the tube so the flapper no longer stays in place.

It had a rubber piece that goes around the flipper to make it seal. My rubber is hard but all there. The rest of it is in good shape. I could run it through a bead blaster and make it look new

Email me your address. I'm going out of town tomorrow but will do my best to get them set before I leave.
