Here is a very early production 51. The pic is marked in pencil on the back November 7, 1950. The number on the front glass may be a number to show position in the production line. This pic is a low resolution version from my KF Factory Photos cd.

And here is a very late 1951, which was retagged as a 1952 Vagabond. I'm driving it to a cruise-in in just a few minutes

1951 Henry J at the Spring Meet of the PNW division of the Kaiser-Frazer Owner's Club International at Salem, Oregon  May of 2008.  This is the rarely-seen (on the web) rear of the car.

That yellow Henry J looks like the one that was done in the early 90s by Jay Wilson, then sold to Leon Hoosier in Grande Prairie, TX. I stopped to see Leon when I was there in 2004. He showed me the car, which was not running at the time, and it looked quite nice. A 4 cylinder model in arena yellow - how cool!  I heard Leon passed away shortly after I visited him which was very sad as he was a good guy. The car was originally from the Pacific Northwest so it sounds like it's back there again. Glad to know it survived after Leon passed.
Here's another Henry J picture of it with a TX license plate:

If anyone is interested, the two "item numbers" below are eBay listings for what appears to be a new "Sunstar" edition of the 1951 Henry J.

200365736227  Green
230365321343 Caribbean Coral Metallic

This is a photo from one of the listings. (Not one of the best)
http://funtoys-limited.com/funtoys/images/sunstar/5101.jpg

Both of these have "opening trunks" which were part of the accessory group in late '51. There are yellow and Indian Ceramic red models without trunk lids representative of the early '51's if you search eBay.

NOTE: I don't sell these. I happened upon them while looking for parts for the full sized model, and some of the listings show stunning detail to the engine compartment and undercarriage/suspension. I'm quite impressed. (Sometimes it doesn't take much.)  ::)

Cool pictures... Those Sunstar Js are very detailed.. so close to being real.. I bought the Red.. about 6 months ago..  I think they are worth the Money also..  I would realy like to see a Willys Aero Done.. maybe a few more different Kaisers also.. Old Promos are fading away..  Ive had those in slush and Acetate Plastics..

I have to update my review to include the two new ones. The only citique I have of them is the "Cape Verde Green" color is not that close to KF's Cape Verde Green. If you look at that photo I posted above, of my  1952 Henry J Vagabond, that is Cape Verde Green. Sunstar's is too dark and more metallic.  Awesome model just the same and I really like the green they used - it's just not CVG that's all.

I just pulled this out of the bookcase.. Regardless of color..  this is detailed.. any one rebuilding a 1:1 would know just about where every piece would go with one of these..

I wish they would do more of the Kaisers and Willys Aeros..

Thanks for the detailed photos you posted on the HJ model.  I was trying to decide which color I wanted mine in.  The Green they use doesn't seem to translate to the scale car very well and as you say, it really isn't close.  I like the Caribbean Coral color the best of the three I've seen even though it will probably turn out to be the most plentiful and I already have an HJ Promo sort of near that color.  It looks really good on that scale of model car!  Now, trunk or no trunk?
I also wish they would model the '51 (first of the new body), the Golden Dragon of '53, any '54, and one each of the early Kaisers and Frazers.  Heck, why not a 51 Frazer? Last of the brand, a nice looking, large, impressive scale model, and unique!  But I'm grateful for what they have put out.

A Diecast maker has done a 1/18 scale Kaiser..  those were out a few years ago.. those as well are detailed.. I dont have one though.. as far as the J.. Im not aware of the trunk version.. these are 1/18 scale cars.. and they are very acturate.. I do think the coral color is probably the most common.. its all I see up here.. the yellows are htf..
