I'm getting ready to inspect the brakes and master cylinder on my 1947 Frazer Manhattan. Is there any trick to removing the brake drums or are they just suppose to "fall" off when you pull on them? Also is it easier to remove the master cylinder from under the car or from the top? Right now it looks as though the brake pedal return spring has rusted away. Is there a generic spring for this? It looks as though NAPA has the rebuild kits for both wheel and master cylinders. Has anyone used their kits? Car hasn't run for several years and the pedal goes to the floor and doesn't return. Oh, what have I gotten myself into!
