Kaiser Building Materials???
« on: September 20, 2015, 07:44:38 PM »
I am doing a remodel of my kitchen, the home was built in 1954.   I read that Kaiser built homes in Southern California and Hawaii after he left the car business.    Has anyone seen some thing similar???

My house is covered with Kaiser house wrap, similar to Tyvek(?), but more like aluminum foil and that's all covered with aluminum siding. I love old stuff! Gary.

1.  Kaiser joined forces with Fritz Burns in California to build some communities there; supposedly Kaiser dishwashers were "options" in the build.  Later, he set up partnerships with locals to build housing projects in the Honolulu area.  The construction work was still operating when Henry died in 1967.

2.  Separate from that was the product line for home construction that Kaiser Aluminum offered.  Besides aluminum siding, there may have been roofing products as well.  This would be 1950's-60's.  look for the Kaiser Industries logo on the items.
