1948 Frazer Manhattan 4 door
« on: November 01, 2015, 02:11:21 PM »
Who ever had this car before me removed all the chrome to have it painted and neglected to reapply the chrome and didn't but it on or keep it with the car. So I need most of the chrome for this car. Any help appreciated.

If you need all of the chrome and stainless trim on your car you would be way better off to try to find an inexpensive parts car that has what you need.  The cost of trying to find all of the parts in good condition from parts sellers will exceed the value of your car quickly.

1947 and 1948 model year chrome as a rule will be identical except for the hood and trunk lettering.  1948's have the FRAZER name as one piece with a kind of "underline" compared to 1947's separate lettering.  Manhattan trim bits are different from the standard Frazer models.

Members of the KFOCI get KFOCI HANDBOOK on a CD which includes a lot of photos of 1947 and 1948 Frazers for comparison pictures.  The CD is a perk for being a member.

Aside from the aforementioned change in the exterior script, which actually occurred midway thru the 1947 model year, a 47 and 48 Frazer is similar enough to allow either as a parts car. If you check the cars for sale thread, there's a Frazer available for all of $200 in the San Fransisco area.
