To get various opinions you can search on this topic in this forum.

A synopsis is:  any high ZDDP, eg, any racing oil, straight 30's like Rotella 30 which is a common diesel oil.  Don't use any oil with the  label stating "for gasoline engines"

I recommend  straight weight 30 (Summer), 20w (Spring,Fall), 10w (Winter). Tractor supply store carry these weights at a very
reasonable prices. Last Spring I bought 30w on sale for $1.49. This oil had the latest rating on it. I have always used straight
weights with good results. My dad has his '53 for 16 years and never had an engine problem. If your engine is dirty, run it 100-300
miles and change it and filter. It will clean up after a couple of changes.

You do NOT want an oil with the latest ratings--latest ratings oils do not include ZDDP components and that is what you need for flat tappet engines/older vintage engines

you want oils rated SJ and older, eg, SG, SH

API (American Petroleum Institute) recommended code SC oil for 1951-1967 gas engines. It's true that zinc-phosphorous was
reduced in later years because of problems with catalytic converters. For those who drive their old cars a lot, a zinc additive is a good way to go to protect the lifters.

Generally, I buy a good 10W-30 that might be on sale, and add a small container of ZDDPlus when I change oil.  http://zddplus.com/  Often, it can be found discounted.
Have used it for years in my Studebakers.

A good bet is Rotilla T1 30w.
Be careful if you use additives, too much and you can create an acid condition, which is not nice.
As you search for your best choice ,watch out for high detergent products. You may not want them either. By now you have probably gathered that there is no consensus on a specific brand and product.
