There was a fellow who was stationed in Omaha at Offutt AFB in the early '70s who had a white Darrin with a 327 Chev V8 in it.  I always wondered what  happen to that car. He found an original engine from a Willys but I don't think he ever got it finish. Does this sound familiar to anyone?  The fellow's name was Wes Burnett and he was a Leutentant in the AFB.  I've tried to hunt him down for years with no luck.

Fid,
This car was for sale 5 years ago. The link to the eBay ad no longer works so I cant see all of the pictures. It appears to have a Chevy V8 in it though I do not know if it is a 327. Could this be the car you knew of in the 1970's?

Thanks for the reply pinetintgreen.  I don't believe this is the car I was referring to as I know that one did have a Chevy 327 in it which was removed so the correct engine could be installed. I know the guy had an engine for it but I don't remember if he ever got it installed or not. The car was white and rough but restorable. The guy lived in Omaha, NE at the time and he had purchased the car in Texas in 1971 for $750! It was never roadworthy while he had it. He was transferred to another base and we have no idea what became of the car.
