My 53 has a rear main seal leak that I want to fix. The engine is a no miles on it fresh rebuild but the last owner was not good at assembling new parts. I have the hydramatic out of the car at the moment fixing a leak he caused by braking the front pump snout on assembly. The shop manual says the rear crank seal can be replaced in the car. Has anyone here done that job? How hard is it? Should I do it before installing the transmission or does it even matter?
thanks
Chris
