Isn't this a '51?

It is a 1952, but really a leftover 1951 model that was reserialed. A black hood ornament cone and tip were the only substantial changes on the Traveler models.

I personally like browns as colors.  I think this is a nice looking car but how could it be a Virginian?  I thought Virginians big schtick was the continental kit on back.  (I know some Virginians did not even have those, just a badge).  But a Traveler?

The '52 Virginians were left over '51s that  had not sold so yes, they got a new hood ornament and fender script.  Continental kit was also part of it but I don't know how, or if it would even be practical, for KF to install a continental kit on a hatchback.  Yes, there were left over '51 Travelers too and this is one, hence it became a '52 Virginian.

The continental kits were available on the '52 Virginians and Henry J's as well but they were an extra cost option and expensive in the day and thus not many of the Virginians were equipped with continental kits.  The factory literature said that they were standard equipment but the factory quickly changed its mind and they became optional at extra cost.
