I'm wondering what the proper colour is for an "F" head 161 hurricane.
I have a 53 . ::)
It appears to have a white or creamy colour on the block with a black valve cover. :-\
Someone told me it should be goldy colour. I've heard that they had no colour just a bare block no paint. ???
What's right? Does anyone know? 8)
I'm tempted to paint it a charcoal grey with black covers
Thanks in advance

Hello, the block on your car should be an off white. The valve cover is gloss black and the fan blade, starter and generator are semi gloss black.
The same engine in the Willys trucks was painted either medium fray, silver or dark green...depending upon the year.
It does get confusing!!

Thanks again. :)
I plan on painting the engine the correct colours if possible.
Their was a hint of white but I was affraid someone may have repainted it a different colour.
So white it will be again ;)
