Title: 47-48 rear hand brake cable work on my 49
Post by: FrazerWill on March 26, 2010, 09:29:11 PM
Will a 47-48 rear hand brake cable work on my 49? It is the one cable that crosses from one tire to the other (one piece)....Just like my 49 is...

Thanks

No, they do not interchange. The PN for the 47/8 cable is 201078 and for the 49/50 it is PN 204438. Much differs between the two.

Thanks joefrazer, I was hoping it was close enough to work with a little modification.

I'm looking for one I can afford.

I wonder if I can get the one I have fixed (replace cable)

Did the cable ware through from rubbing on the tail pipe?

Ebay currently has two rear brake cables listed.

It's frayed on one side..could be from the tail pipe.

I checked with one of the ones on eBay...not the right one. One of the suppliers has one but it's $70. I guess it's not too bad of a price. Compaired to a new car price it's probably a real good deal. For my 94 acura, honda wants $850.00 for the clutch parts and well over $1000 to do the whole job. For My friends toyota Camry, the gas peddle computer was over $700.. most of my cars use linkage or a cable for under $50...go figure.
