Title: JB WELD FOR INTAKE MANIFOLD
Post by: Terry T on June 16, 2017, 04:16:07 PM
Has anyone used the hi-temp JB Weld for repairing an intake manifold to the extend of bonding a piece back in?

Tried it on my '48 with a broken exhaust manifold tab. Worked okay for about a month then cracked again. Just applied another layer last night.  I'll see how long it lasts this time. I think it would work better on your intake.

I should qualify---water jacket on 161 F-head head.

I successfully repaired a water jacket crack on the head of an ancient Caterpillar loader my dad had for a few months, can't comment on longevity.

My brother bonded a broken alloy shotgun receiver back together that was a pretty thin bond line......... and permanent. Amazing stuff, important to have your surfaces clean first though.
