Nice car, and nice seller.  Reasonable price?  Well, with what they have done, you could probably not restore for that price.

Agree, at today's prices it would be hard to buy a rough one and get it to this same condition for $18-19K. Even if you did a lot of the work yourself. Plus a big benefit is that this one is ready to drive.  :)

How does this particular car stack up as far as correctness/originality?

Nice car but it needs correctly detailed. Two things I noticed right away...the engine color is incorrect and the car has been fitted with Frazer exterior door trim. The strip running along the door tops shouldn’t be there.

Still, a decent car that one never sees at a show these days.

One more update - this car belonged to a now deceased club member and I think it was he who added the Frazer trim. I remember seeing this car many years ago at meets and the added stainless rings a bell.

There was a time when a very average hardtop brought this kind of money, but today, selling prices are not where they once were. This car needs the paint overspray removed and then detailed correctly to make it worth something close to the asking price.

I noticed in the dash pictures that the heat gauge  is pointing at 212. It either doesn't work or the car runs hot.

How off is the engine color?  I guess I should pay more attention.

That overspray is bad - in places like trunk lid under side.

Regarding the heat gauge, when the engine is shut off the needle rests at full hot.

The engine should be a mint green color. Its current color is closer to mid-70s Mopar.

It has an 8 volt battery in it which would indicate a starting problem to me.

unmolested original car

Seller likely doesn't know it has a '51 Kaiser hood ornament.
