Hi Gang...
Is there an appropriate whitewall size for a '53 Dragon? I confirmed the tire size in several documents as 7.10 x 15 but could not find a reference to whitewall size.
Is there a standard for these cars?
Thanks...
Geoff

4 1/4 “ is correct for 1947 through 1953.

Perfect. Thanks Gordie...

I know 4 1/4 " was Original. But 3 1/4 has always passed Judging.
I like both but the 4 inch WW always get dirty faster with it only a inch from the Ground.

It should not pass judging with the new guidelines!

Contact Char Dayton, the Chief Judge. She is keeper of the whitewall width tire size. It should also be noted that Coker and Universal do not list a 4 1/4 inch whitewall on any of the brands they cary in a bias-ply (if we're going original here, it should not only be original width and brand (Goodyear, with Firestone, B.F. Goodrich and U.S. Royal as acceptible original brands). Remember, radials are NOT ORIGINAL and if you want to be a purist about it, radials are not acceptible for judging (non KF item takes a significant hit).

Yes, I agree with All above. 7.10 x 15, 4 1/2 WW, For Dragons. Goodyear was Originally on Our Original 53 AV Dragon. Got movie with Me Driving on Daddy’s lap.
Our Next set of Tires We had Goodyear Double Eagles . They had a Needle like a Basketball to Air Up middle tube inside. So on freeway get flat you slow down & get off freeway for safe change.
I know to much information, or Goodyear advertisement. Here's the kicker, when I Found Our Original AV Dragon not knowing it's whereabouts for 15 Years in 7 Mo. It also still had the Double Eagles on it.
I do need to get with Chief Judge for updates. New Members, I Tell them when get results from judging take one or two items & make it Back to Original. Make it Fun, not a test.
Thanks to This Great Club.

Lucas Classic Tire carries 6.70 15 Goodyear tires with 4 1/4 inch wide whitewalls according to the latest issue of Hemmings Motor News. I bought the same in Goodrich from Coker Tire a few years ago but do not see them listed in the new Hemmings.
