I'm getting ready to pull the engine in my Darrin for rebuild. I'm looking for any tips or advice anyone may have who has done this before. I've already removed the radiator as well as engine accessories like the starter, fuel pump and generator.
Before I disconnect the linkage and clutch shafts, is there anything I should be aware of? And, regarding the rear motor mounts, should I disconnect them from the frame cross member and pull them out with the engine/transmission, or disconnect them from the engine/transmission and leave them attached to the frame?
Anything else?

Can't offer any advice on pulling your motor but can give you a heads up on rebuild parts. Mine came from Egge and upon assembly the machinist was running into (intake/exhaust?) valve adjustment issues and discovered they were 50 thousandths longer than the originals. Once he machined the extra off the ends of the stems all was well, although I haven't started it yet.
