I came across this listing for a parts interchange book. It seems interesting from the description, but $40 is more than I'm willing to gamble on if it has any usable guidance on alternate Aero parts sources. Has anyone ponied up to check it out?

I can't speak to this particular book but I did buy a set of reprint vintage Hollanders a couple years ago. I was looking mostly at brake & suspension and from what I remember, about the only interchanges listed were among the different Aero models. It was a pretty short section. Maybe with faulty memory.............but I don't remember seeing crosses from Jeeps, of which I know there are several common parts.

This type of book was originally used to help auto wreckers identify interchangeable parts on different vehicles and they were quite useful. This particular book seems to have had the Willys section of the original Motors manual copied. For this price I think that you could probably get an original complete manual on-line. We would need to see a copy of the book to determine if it would work for us or not. If anyone decides to purchase it we would certainly be interested to read about if you found it useful or not.

I dug out my Hollander reprints and they do show some Jeep interchange info. Categories are initially divided by part type rather than make & model. Most Aero stuff is unique but probably not so much on electrical and some hard parts. I've got the '46 to '56 book and the '54 to '66 set if you have a particular part you want looked up.

Mark, that's very kind of you, but I wasn't necessarily hunting for anything in particular. Just curious on the book. I'm used to hunting for Willys parts (and info) and squirelling them away for when I need.
I do need decent rear brake drums. The only interchange I'm aware of is DJ.
I'd also like to find a 4.10:1 ring and pinion from a non-overdrive Aero..

Here's some info from the '66 book for 4.1-1 ring gear info. The rear drums show a cross to the '56 to '65 DJ3A & Surrey, '53 to '55 Rambler for fronts, which is a new one for me.
Duane Hayes might have a complete Aero axle with the gear you want.
