Our forum is one of the nicest ways of our obtaining information on our cars, parts and restorations. Some users are asking questions or making comments and then removing their posts leaving answers to their questions or opinions not making any sense to the reader who comes in after the comment has been deleted. Every one is welcome to use our forum but please do not abuse it. Do not leave comments if you are not sure of what you are doing. Any one who abuses the forum can have all of their user names blocked from future use. We all learn a lot about Kaiser-Frazer-Willys products here and we want to keep it that way. Please do not use any members names if you comment on this post.

Hi Gordie
This is a little off subject but do you know if there is any progress on being able to upload pictures from a smartphone?
This would be a great feature, we all live on our cell phones and take many pictures.

I'm not aware of what is happening in that department but we will talk to Chris about it at the convention. That would certainly be a great feature to have!
-
what be a smartphone?
-
Smartphones are the latest cell phones that will do many of the things that a computer will do.

I thought We could do Pictures on this Forum ?
-
iPhone uses photos with a '.jpeg' extension which is not currently supported by our version of Simple Machines, the software that runs this forum.
-
I have always used .jpg (same as .jpeg) to post photos...latest posting was earlier today in the Collectables department on license plate frames.
-
I just rename my files from .jpeg to .jpg if it can't find them when I try to post.
-
NOW WHY WOULD IPHONES DO THAT?
-
While '.jpeg' and '.jpg' are interchangeable, they mean the same thing...Joint Photographic Experts Group...the difference here is that the forum software only recognizes exact matches when allowing attachments. IPhones, and probably other smart devices, use '.jpeg' as the file name extension which is not on the list of Simple Machines' accepted extensions - at least for our version.
So, until an upgrade is done, you'll need to rename the file extension from '.jpeg' to '.jpg' before attempting to add the attachment.

I've attached .jpeg files without renaming the extension ... I just went back to look at them now & they appear as .jpg so they must have auto-corrected on their own
