Last week the 6th Annual Concours d'Elegance car show took place in Excelsior, MN. The organizer wanted to get enough KF cars there to have a KF class. I put him in touch with Del Fankhauser, NCO Manager and Del delivered! You need at least 5 examples to have a dedicated class and he rounded up 7. One unfortunately had to bow out at the last minute but we still managed to get 6 Kaisers there. Unfortunately, no Frazers. I was very happy to see a very nice example of the old slab siders when Bob (didn't get his last name) showed up with a dark crystal green '48 which he had done a body-off restore on. I had not seen this car before - great car (they all were.) Forum member rlhammer had his stunning green Dragon there. Rob, I hope you don't mind but I included a picture of your Dragon with your father-in-law in front of it. Rob's father-in-law worked for Northwest Motors who were the largest KF Dealer in the Twin Cities. It was a treat to have him there. If you have more info Rob, please share. Other Kaisers were Del's '53 Carolina tudor, my '51 Special, Erik Lucht's outstanding '54 Manhattan tudor and Chris Rence' awesome black-beauty '55 Manhattan. It was a great show.

Fid ,
Thanks for reporting & Pictures. What Color Combination was the Dragon ? Lt Green Green Bambu Top ? Green Bambu with Laguna Cloth ? Hard to see Color on baby Screen. Color tracking not Good. Looks like Good Dragon Story You could read some.
You know My All Vinyl Dragon Combination. But We also had a 1947 Kaiser Special like the 1948 at Your Show. Very Dark Green almost Black. Home movie’s sometimes looks Blue under Blue Sky.
Good Show. Dare the Frazers - Willy’s come next Time.

Thanks for the kind remarks G.B.
The Dragon is light green with at dark green bamboo/vinyl top. It took Best In Class which was no surprise.

Fid,
thanks for the nice pictures and spending time with my father in law. He had a great time and loved talking to some old time Kaiser people. It was a really nice day with some exceptional cars (funny my AMC Pacer did not win :). Del and you were so kind to Don and he loves his Northwest Kaiser Frazer license plate topper you let me purchase. All nice Kaisers, fun to see together and have so many people stop by and ask. It was fun to show the Dragon as it is looking pretty good but not good enough to win best in show as I guess you have to have a 4 million dollar car for that :)
You and all Kaiser people are always welcome to come by my place to see some of my stuff!

Thanks for the kind words Rob. I don't know if I'll get to any more car shows this year but I'll keep in touch.

Behnke & Richard Langworth started the Dragon List. Harold Hagen Keeps it updated.

I hope Kaiser and Frazer owners tell the public about who Henry J. Kaiser and Joseph W. Frazer wher and their impact on a great many things, not just automobiles!!!
Two good books are Freedoms Forge and Western Colossus. Plus there is a lot on the Internet in smaller snippets of information, if you don't want to take the time to read these great informative books. People are amazed by who these people were and what they accomplished.
