Title: Need Help on Finding Harold Wells article on Modifying Kaisers for V8's
Post by: Geoff Hacker on August 02, 2018, 09:05:10 PM
Hi Gang...

Good friend Bob Dayton shared with me that there's an article in the Kaiser Quarterly in the late 70s or early 80s by Harold Wells that discusses installing a V8 in a Kaiser.

Does anyone know the exact issue that this article appeared in?  If so, I'm pretty sure I can find a copy or scan of it.

Thanks for any help you can lend.

Would you please post it again?

No - not posting ransom posts..

Save yourselves some aggravation fellas and find the info elsewhere. Every since I found this forum Jake's been posting items that others find desireable, and then keeping them just out of reach.

It would be great if we had an index for all of the Quarterlies as there have been many interesting articles in the past.  If I remember correctly one of the Stradt brothers in Texas posted dimensions for making motor mounts to install Chevrolet engines in the full size later Kaiser chassis's.  It would have been in the period of Ben Walker's editing the Quarterly.  Tom Stradt is listed in the new roster.

Here's the thread that talks about swapping a V8 into a Kaiser.

Hi Gang...

Thanks for your help with this issue.  Still discussing here what to do/customize on one of our cars.

Best...

1) I did a keyword list, not an index in one of the Quarterlies prior to 2001.
2) The Chevy motor swap article was in Vol21 No3 (1985) of The Quarterly. The mount design has proved itself over 30 thousand miles with several cars.
No, I don't have a copy to give you or to sell you. It may surprise people, but Ben Walker was trying to save money for the Club so I got only 1 copy and my brother got only 1 copy and these were taken when we put the mailing labels on so he saved the Club the cost of mailing those 2 issues. And right now, I can't find that 1 copy.
