Title: Luster seal
Post by: Orphanauto on September 28, 2018, 06:54:51 PM
I'm looking for KF Luster seal items. I'm interested in the history and items related to this. I have one bottle , as well as a few made for Shell and a Studebaker one.

At one time or another during the 1950's almost every car maker offered Lustur-Seal including Chevrolet, Nash, Hudson (and American Motors) and Willys-Overland.  Sometimne during the 1960's the operation completely shut down and I haven't been able to find out exactly when or why.

Wow, thanks for that information. I did see a lighted KF sign for luster seal that was to be auctioned off a year or so in the club. Unfortunately I couldn't make to meet to bid. Great photos, thanks again

For you Luster Seal collectors the 1950 K-F calendar has illustrations by Bill Layne and one of the pages shows a bottle of Luster Seal among other accessories.  A seller on eBay has that page for sale along with two other pages from the six in the calendar.  It is eBay item #372464646008 and he has a $5.00 opening bid plus postage.  Bill Layne illustrated the K-F calendars for about three years and his artwork is very collectible.  He specialized in elves.
