Title: Installing air conditioning
Post by: j762538 on May 10, 2019, 03:13:59 AM
I did not find much info on installing air conditioning in Kaisers on the boards, has anyone done so or have a car with it? The new 54 Special I have has a 327 so that part won't be too bad but I don't see much room under the dash for the distribution unit.

You can create space BY CUTTING your glove box down.  Mine is now only about 3 to 4 inches deep.  I observed this in a laTE MODEL before I installed air in my 53.  Gary

Vintage Air and other companies custom make units to fit most cars.  Pick up a couple of street rod magazines and look for their ads and you may find some good ideas.  Many members have put air conditioning even in otherwise stock Kaisers and Frazers.  That would make a great topic for a Quarterly article.
