Hi all,
Has anybody installed a 3-bolt Grant style steering wheel adapter on a Henry J? I have a vintage gold metalflake Supreme steering wheel with the standard aftermarket 3 bolt hub pattern that I would love use on my Henry J. I measured the steering column splines and it looks like it's 11/16" OD with 40 splines (39 actual splines, but one is a double slot).
Anyway, anybody know of an adapter that would work?
Thanks!

Well, I'm going to answer my own question here. I called Grant Products and gave the tech guy this Henry J steering column shaft info:
- 40-spline nominal count (39 actual splines, with one double blank) which would accept a true 40-spline adapter.
- Spline OD: 11/16"
- Spline ID: 5/8"
The tech guy gave me two part numbers: #3670 and #3670-14. I'm not sure of teh difference, but I ordered a #3670, and it fits perfectly on the Henry J steering column. The adapter is sort of cone-shaped, and shrouds over the steering column housing tube a little bit so it gives a nice intentional finished look.
So there you have it, the Grant steering wheel adapter for a Henry J is #3670 (http://www.grantproducts.com/products/view/964/)

Thanks for the good information and Grant's website. They certainly have a wide variety of steering wheels if you want to dress up your Henry J or Darrin or can't find a good original.

Would you be able to post a picture of the finished install?

I have a question regarding steering wheel hubs. Just bought a Renault 10 with a steering wheel from what I believe is a R5. Should not be any problem to use a aftermarket steering wheel hub for a R5 if I cant find anything that is specified for a R10?

Yes, here it is. It fits really nice and flush with the steering column tube.
