Title: Torque Specs?
Post by: pjkaiser on October 15, 2019, 04:44:10 PM
Does anyone have the Torque Specifications for the 161 F-Head engine used in the Darrin and in Willys cars??

I can't find anything other than the head bolt torque.

From the Willys Service Standards booklet for '52, '53 & '54.
If you have some bolts that seem to just not be quite reaching torque they are probably stretching or pulling the threads out of the casting. I ran into that on clutch pressure plate & oil pump bolts. Pulled one pressure plate bolt in half, drilled & retapped one oil pump cover bolt, replaced the long pump bolts with new.
