Title: Pertronix
Post by: jneely on July 12, 2020, 08:54:36 PM
Has anyone successfully fit a pertronix pointless ignition to an f-head willys or darrin? They offer an ignitor for auto lite iat series, but not sure it's one size fits all..

Thanks

I was thinking about this a couple years ago and got some feedback here. Also got some mixed opinions elsewhere. http://kfclub.com/forum/index.php/topic,12079.msg55628.html#msg55628

This and the 6 into 2 manifold popped up in a couple replies to a post on the Brazil Willys Rural FB group where a member is asking about increasing horsepower in his BF161 engine (our f-161) while keeping it stock looking.
A quick scan of the translation sounds similar Pertronix, but this has 3 coils. https://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-705192466-kit-igniflex-willys-f75-rural-cj5-bf161-hurricane-6c-igd2000-_JM?matt_tool=86155663&matt_word&gclid=CjwKCAjwmMX4BRAAEiwA-zM4Jk8HdkqYAMaDZ9aGFzcZ7LWHF65S_puUGnW9LaQdzj1FsoxV3fv1gxoC2EsQAvD_BwE&fbclid=IwAR1usu2nkOpfIvr011Uj2pJT3XUch9x3r69BO-Ll9IDJkpevzTKlgJYjqIU&quantity=1

Huh. Looks like a full modern distributorless ignition system. Certainly something you dont often see.

Definitely cool, but my preference is for a subtle upgrade under the stock distributor cap.

Thanks!

That's exactly what it is.
