Title: 6-226 Valve Springs
Post by: vettelang on August 20, 2020, 10:00:16 PM
Anyone have a good procedure for checking valve spring tension without the special tool called out in the manual?

Also is 11/32 the right reamer size for the valve guides?

Thanks for the help.

Hi;  Don't know of another way.  We always checked the length by standing all together, if all the same should be good to go.  The 226 in stock configeration  will probably not float the valves anyway.

actually I wasn't worried about valve float, but closing the valves to assure good vacuum. It acts like "sticky" valves now.

An automotive machine shop could check them for you if you know the specification.
