I look forward to any tips and tricks to replace the tail lamp sockets and pigtails from an Aero. The socket large flange is pressed in from the rear, but there appears to be a bezel also pressed in from the front. I don't want to screw these parts up Thanks for the help!

Rhode Island Wiring made up my pigtails & has the correct socket internals including springs. I didn't need to change my socket housings. I'm guessing there would be a way to replace them if you could find a good "donor" socket.
Are yours rotted out or just rusty?
Do you have the early or late style lights?

I have three late style housings, but the wiring on the worst housing is better than the wiring on the best housing so a switch would be best. I saw on a you tube video that these old sockets were probably swaged in place, which is what it looks like. My plan now is to replace the contacts without disturbing the housings.

RIW can make them up for you with correct OEM ends. I think they have the pattern, & price in their list. I tried to post a shot of the ends on a license light pigtail they made but the site won't won't allow the pic to load.

These will work.It is no work but there is a better way.
