Title: HJ emblem original patent papers
Post by: Gordie on September 20, 2020, 03:55:09 PM
Some of you probably saw the original copyright-patent papers online last week for the Henry J. emblem and name.  They were not approved until June 1950, shortly before the release of the first Henry J cars.  It is certainly an interesting piece of K-F history.

Any styling or mechanical items developed in house by Kaiser-Frazer were patented or copyrighted (demending on item) by the company.  The patents and copyrights have since expired as they aare governed by the apporpriate regulations and laws in place at the time the patent or copyright was granted.  They could not be "grandfathered" into the expanded protections granted by newer legislation such as the Copyright Act of 1978.
