My car has a driver's side outside rear view mirror that looks like a 3-bladed propeller with a chrome cowl around it. The mirror pivots around the base and is held in place by a hex-head screw. The question is; I have seen photos of KM both with this type of mirror and with just a plain round mirror. The list of factory options lists several mirror numbers but no description of what they look like. Anyone know which mirror is the correct one or are they both correct?

Look a few months back in the forum index as there was a picture of the correct mirrors posted.

Here's what KF issued as the factory authorized units. The clamp on style has been reproduced and they are plentiful on eBay and other vintage parts sites. The body mount unit that matches the picture is very difficult to find so most folks go with something that looks close.
I bought out a dealer some time ago and they had, in a KF box, a mirror that turned out to be the same as 1954 Ford.
What's on your car sounds like a Yankee brand tri-bar mirror. A common accessory back in the day.

The supplier who made the Kaiser deluxe mirrors also supplied Hudsom mirrors but they are impossible to find for the Hudson's as well!

I removed the 'tri-bar' mirror from the driver's side and installed a pair (rt & lt) of about '65 Chevy mirrors. Look a lot like the mirrors shown in the sales brochures; not quite the same but close enough. Thanks for the photos and info. Per the parts list the correct mirror is 100145.
