Title: Heater switch wiring??
Post by: pjkaiser on November 17, 2020, 12:21:09 PM
I have a Henry J heater box with 4 wires coming off the blower motor.  I have looked in the manual and there are no heater (blower motor/switch) wires on the wiring diagram.

Would someone please draw a schematic on how these 4 wires hook up to a blower motor/switch?   Do I need an external ground?

Hi Phil, every Henry J heater I've worked on only has one wire coming from the motor and the switch has a resistor on it to control one of two speeds on the 100071 and 100302.  The third heater, the same one used in the 1949-50 KFs maybe different. I have not had any experience with that one.  Hopefully someone else has and can answer your question.

Maybe this isn't a Henry J. Heater.   It doesn't look like my Darrin heater, which I believe are similar.

I think what you posted is this heater here -

From the pic, it looks like there's more than one wire on the switch and out the box itself.
I believe this is the same heater used in '49-'50 Kaisers.  I've not had any first hand experience with this type but maybe someone else can chime in.
