Title: radio antenna replacement

Happy New Year, everyone!
I think I have found an appropriate replacement for the broken antenna on my '53 Manhattan, which is mounted on the right fender. I'm not sure how best to gain access to the inside of the fender:  up behind the glove compartment?  Behind the right kick panel?

Our 52 Manhattan access was behind the front wheel splash panel and before the front door post, the wire to the radio was fed through the fire wall which was sealed by dum-dum.
