Title: heat and sound insulation for 1954 Kaiser Manhattan

My passenger compartment is quite hot and noisy when driving in the summer.  I didn't find any insulation info in past posts.  In searching for insulation on-line, I found lots and lots of different types of insulation, some in rolls, some cut to fit specific cars (not Kaiser), some spray-on, some fire-resistant, etc.  Anyone have experience in improving the heat and sound insulation in their cars?
