Title: What is this for?

Im changing the rear main seals and im wondering what the hole in the back of the engine is for there is also a hole in the mounting plate for the bellhousing. My manual doesnt show me anything about this. Can someone please tell me what im looking at?

Never mind behind all the grime i found a pug i think its to clean the oil passage.
