Title: Anyone know what other steering wheels fit the Manhattan?
Post by: Kaiserbermann on October 06, 2008, 07:01:17 PM
This is a wierd question I know but I had the seats redone in our 53 Manahttan with a Glide Engineering front bench that reclines (nice huh?) and the seat cushion is firmer that the original and now the steering wheel hits my legs getting in.  I need to get a smaller steering wheel but I need to know what might fit.  Anyone out there that tried a different wheel before (smaller though)?

I believe that all Kaiser Frazer steering wheels are the same diameter but I am not sure about the Henry J.  You can get aftermarket steering wheels at most speed shops and they are advertised in many car magazines.  A better idea is to take your seat to your upholsterer and explain the problem and have him re-do your seat with less foam padding and you will get back your original seat specifications and eliminate the problem and keep your car stock.  Without power steering your Kaiser will be no fun to park with a small diameter steering wheel.
