Can anyone provide a picture or info on 51 J interior? My trim plate number says 4404-2. I checked the restoration guide and it lists 4404, but not with the -02.
Any help will be appreciated.

My 1952 Henry J Vagabond Deluxe has a trim code of 4424-1. No one has been able to tell me what the -1 is for. I can only guess that it stands fpr a 4424 trim, but with some modifications/changes. If you hear from anyone what the -2 is for on your trim code I love to hear it as well.

I just looked at some old photos of a 1951 Henry J, in Aloha green, that used to be in Windy Hill Auto Salvage not far from me. The trim code on the tag that I photoed, is 4404 - 2. I didn't take any photos of the interior of this car but in one photo of the tag, you can easily see the brown dragon vinyl on one of the doors. The serial number of this car is K514-003070 so it's a very early one. Your car likely had all brown dragon vinyl on the door panels as most '51s I've seen do.

Mr KaiserFrazerLibrary <g> answered that one in another thread--the *-* with a number behind stands for folding or non-folding read seat. He didn't spell out which was which, but if the trim code is 4424-2 and your seat is folding or non-folding, then you know what the -2 stands for, and the -1 would be the other type. According to him, the factory needed to know which type it was in case a replacement seat was ordered, as the upholstery/trim was attached differently depending on whether it was a folding or non-folding seat.

The car I took the photo of the tag for shows AG = 8 which means it did not have a trunk lid. The "-2" on the tag of one of the first 2000 produced is interesting because it would indicate that KF had the intention of adding a trunk lid option for the Henry J right from the start as it wouldn't make sense to use a stationary rear seat in a car without one.
I suppose it is also possible that the -2 may have been used to match what was used in the 1949/50 Travelers / Vagabonds which also had folding rear seat.
