BOUGHT 2 DOZEN CRATES OF NOS PARTS FROM AN OLD GARAGE. MOSTLY PLYMOUTH. THERE ARE 4 OR 5 CRATES OF NOS KAISER/FRAZER PARTS. DOES ANYONE HAVE A PARTS BOOK TO HELP ME DECIPHER PART NUMBERS? MOST CHROME, ETC. IS NOT BOXED BUT HAS A 6 DIGIT NUMBER ON IT OR ATTACHED TO IT.

Where are you located?

would really like a spreadsheet of the part numbers, once you get things organized.
-
ORGANIZATION IS NOT MY STRONG POINT. I AM PUTTING LIKE PARTS TOGETHER (ENGINE, ELECTRICAL, CHROME, ETC.). ANYTHING IN PARTICULAR YOU ARE LOOKING FOR?
-
send us a few numbers and we'll see what we can do...

Would be interested in seeing any three numbers at random. I am looking for likely time period covered by the parts you have. Many kaiser-frazer dealers ended up going with other makes after 1948...your former dealer may have ended up with a Plymouth-based Chrysler Corporation franchise.
-
From the numbers I've seen, lots of 47-48 stuff with some 49-50 and a few 51 items sprinkled in.
-
KF offered something called "initial parts stock" and suggested dealers have these items in stock. Many early dealers purchased from this list and a high percentage of them had a lot of this early stuff in stock when they went out of business. John Parker had barrels full of this stuff at one time. Items such as early lenses etc were a dime a dozen at early meets. Many dealers just put this stuff in the dump but some put it in the attic and there are still a few of these stocks around.
-
I know of a former member who was a dealer and when he left KF, he buried much of his stock in his back yard as fill. I visited once and he handed me a shovel and sure enough...about a foot down yielded a few rusty suspension parts.
-
I have copies of the order sheets for initial stocks, 1946-48 and most of the items are hardware and mechanicals; virtually no chrome outside of bezels was included there was no significant sheet metal and no accessories made the list.

I would be interested in parts for my 49 Kaiser even if they are 'boring' mundane mechanical and suspension. abc.moran@netzero.net Bryan
