Title: 1948 Frazer Sent to Sweeden
Post by: blackcat429cj on November 19, 2011, 06:00:25 PM
Just going through some old family photos,  I found this picture of what was labled a 48Frazer Manhattan (my mom was usually pretty good putting her albums together but it still could have been a 47.

Anyway this car was purchased new by her cousin from my uncles dealership, It was exported to Sweeden shortly after this picture was taken.

A number of people from Europe who survived the war unscaved (including those in Switzerland and Sweeden) came to the USA to buy goods they could not get at home, "while on vacation".  Various issues of KAISER-FRAZER DEALER NEWS have stories and/or photos about cars going overseas, either in the posessions of Americans going there for business (military & civilians) or foreigners buying to take the cars home after traveling around the USA in it.  Doing that qualified the vehicle as a "used car" for customs purposes (American and destination country).
