Post by: hankus on December 25, 2011, 09:36:24 PM: CANSOMEONE TELL ME WHETHER OR NOT THERE WERE SLATS IN THE TRUNK OF THE 1952MANHATTAN?IAMTHINKING OF PURCHASING ONE BUT UNKNOWN IF THERE ANYY SLATS IN THE TRUNK ORIGINALLY. THANK YOU HANK KAISER1@COX.NET.

Post by: joefrazer on December 26, 2011, 07:26:00 AM: If you're referring to slats like those in the utility cars (Travelers or Vagabonds), no there are none in the Manhattans. There are some strengthening ribs in the sheet metal, one on each side near the outer edge of the trunk, but they were stamped as part of the trunk floor.

Post by: PK5321 on January 10, 2012, 06:26:54 PM: In a 53 K Manhattan, what does the spare tire hold down assembly consist of? I appear to be missing a bolt and bracket maybe, that fit into the threaded rod that extends thru the spare up to the hole in the round cover that forms part of the trunk floor. And how is the jack tied down? Anyone have any pictures they could post?
