Title: brackets near hood hinges
Post by: PK5321 on April 25, 2012, 04:26:42 PM
On my 53 Manhattan there is a bracket mounted on the firewall near each of the two hood hinges.  They consist of 2 circular rings one above the other.  Is there supposed to be rubber bumpers in them?  Or I was thinking that maybe you run the radio antenna wire through them to keep it from interfering with the hinges. I know the antennas were mounted on either side. Can anyone clarify?

That sounds correct to me.

Which?  Bumpers or the antenna wire?

There is a bracket on each side that holds the vent control cables for fresh air, are those the ones you are thinking about?
