In the back of Langworth's book there is a copy of an ad promoting the 1949 Virginian using a Polar Grey with Teal top Virginian. There is a lady in the ad with a flowing scarf.
I would like to purchase this ad if anyone has it and would sell let me know. Thanks Bryan Moran

This is a very rare ad. It will be easier to ebay the magazine. Being an Esquire Magazine the car ad sellers don't go looking there.
The flowing scarf looks like a feather fan to me.

Jim
That's the one. I think it's kind of neat to have the exact same color/trim of my Virginian in an ad. I will go to ebay next.

That is a nice color combo, and I think I remember seeing pictures of your car a while back on this forum--beautiful.

Jim, any idea what month this was in? I checked my LOODetroit and it did not mention the month next to the ad. I did check ebay and each month of ESQUIRE is available so I can get it, but I don't want to buy 12 magazines to get it.
I didn't realize Esquire was so racy back in the day :o

Click on the link in my post and then click on View Ad ... You can clearly read January 1949.
Best of Luck. If you find two I would love to have a couple of extras

You should also be on the lookout for a piece of showroom literature for the Virginian with this illustration on the cover. It is around 8 1/2 x 11 in size and has 4 pages, including front and back covers. Mine has a dealer stamp for the store in Johnson Creek WI (population at the time under 500 people).

The one huge ebay magazine house I was working with said they do not have that issue of Esquire. So I will check other options on ebay this weekend.

Needle in a haystack but I'll start throwing out the straw piece by piece...
