ohio, I sent you an email. I have a 51 and 53 both with oil bath and will only be using one so the other is surplus, Henry. Sorry, don't know your name as most do not put it on here.

appreciate the interesting information. am not going to give up on the search, but i like the facts and need to review the handbook a little more.thanks

The only type of air cleaner I've ever seen on a four cylinder J is the oil bath type. I know the parts book lists 2 types and I'd be interested in knowing more about the other one. I know I have not seen them all as there were about 60,000+ four cylinder Js produced but the only air cleaner I've ever seen on one is this type:

thanks for the picture. that is the type i'm looking for. i have one on mine that belongs to the 6 cyl.
