You are right about the car...if the paint code matches it is one of a probable low number done in black.  Too bad about distance and time of year.

They said its all original and the paint is in good condition along with the chrome.Do you know the number that were painted black ? I was just wondering if any members live close to Wheatridge,Co and could check it out for me . I am concened about the front end damage. They say it only affected the fender and radiator .I live in Ohio and cant just hop over and see it ).

There is no break down at present as to how many production line built cars were painted what color for ANY K-F or postwar Willys product, regardless of model year

Car is off CL.  If possible, for long term exposure on the buy sell forum here, consider cut/paste of contact information and photos.  I would always be interested in a 53 black onyx Manhattan.
