Aero front shocks, what else do they interchange with?
I mounted new shocks on my '54 Aero Lark in the mid 70's while working at a Firestone store that carried Monroe. We had the rears but the fronts weren't available, had to go with Gabriel's from a parts house. Don't have a clue what the numbers were for either pair now. Not big issue yet since my car is currently completely disassembled but I'm always looking for parts. Preferably a full set from the same manufacturer.

Here are the rears, according to www.rockauto.com -- MONROE Part # 31094

I seem to remember about 30 years ago, the late Chuck Schnetlage did some research on shock absorbers and discovered that rear shocks for 1960 Corvettes were the same as the Willys Aero fronts. I cannot substantiate that because my memory may be faulty, but go ahead and check that out.

Most shocks have the part # stamped on them. Here is a ref for the type of mounting used on shocks.

Here is the web page for Monroe, the menu is on the left.

For my 54 Eagle I picked a Monroe 33121 based on the end attachments, stroke and overall length for the front. The rears are the 31094 as mentioned.
